This bookshelf was an exploration of digital joinery as it assembles without glue or fasteners. This was achieved by implementing a CNC specific version of a traditional dovetail joint. It was designed in such a way that the cross-brace created a void large enough for a seated person to fit inside while maintaining structural integrity. The material used was one sheet of 3/4” birch plywood.
