This project is located in Borgo Cornalese, a suburb of Turin, Italy. The purpose of the design is to transform abandoned buildings into a new cultural center for the community. This Farmstead is intended to serve as a gateway to the surrounding nature preserve. Analysis revealed that in the park there are many lakes whose borders connect areas of open green space. The circularity of the paths around the lakes inspirited the circulation inside the courtyard of our new community center. The two primary paths of the preserve become the circulation in the building creating a series of balconies and corridors that connect all of the varying programs and courtyards. After an intensive structural study it was possible to re-design all the spaces and to merge a modern architecture with the historical heritage of the site.
