This installation sought to highlight the fundamental properties of light with modern digital fabrication techniques. Using Maya a tree-like form was developed that began at separate light fixtures, each branch having its own pattern, and cascaded toward the floor where the patterns overlapped creating a more opaque skin. The patterns were customized using Rhinoceros with the Grasshopper plug-in to minimize the necessary manual assembly time.
